As some of you might know, here at Symmetry we are a personal development company that just so happens to sell life insurance. This was a huge plus and an underlying factor as to why I chose Symmetry Financial Group.
Just before I had gotten involved with Symmetry, I had taken up reading. I read Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kyosaki and that book changed my entire life. Although most of his references are to the real estate industry, he related them to business in general. From then on, I would borrow 3 to 4 books at a time from Johnny Cox. Some of them include How to Win Friends and Influence People, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, Extreme Ownership, and the list goes on. I couldn’t put these books down! What was most exciting was what the information in these books held for myself in the future. I knew what I was reading now might not have an immediate effect, but that over time it certainly would.
Fast forward to January 16, 2018, I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine since middle school. He was wanting relationship/dating advice. So, after several hours of back to back texting, he said a couple things that were very interesting to me. He said, “You seem like you could moonlight as a relationship doctor,” and “You always look at it as a glass half full approach,” and lastly, “I feel like you’re copy and pasting from some book.” I couldn’t help but smile after some of those texts. I wasn’t even giving him relationship or dating advice because, to be fair, I’m the last person to give that. But, I was giving him positive business/life advice that I had learned from my reading and personal growth. I’ve never heard someone tell me that I give good advice until this past year and I can tell you, it’s very rewarding and I owe it all to reading and focusing on my personal development. Now, the reason I am bringing this up is because for people who knew me before, they might tell you I’m the last person who they would ask for advice. But who I am now is a completely different person, and it is all due to personal development.
In conclusion, the leaders that this company builds are inspiring. Every leader in this company can 100% thank Symmetry for building them to who they are today. I am so thankful that we are here to help build other leaders that are kind and genuine. That is what I am excited about the most, helping my agents to be the best possible versions of themselves, while becoming the best possible version of myself. And lastly, the fact that we are a SALES company but we are having THE John Maxwell as our key note speaker for conference, goes to show that we are highly focused on leadership development. Personal growth and development is directly related to the success you will or will not have with Symmetry.
